A short (1m) motion graphic loosely based on the Breton legend of the City of Ys, or Kêr-Is. My idea was that this style of art presentation could be used to pitch a trailer, cutscene or stylized exposition for a game or animation, as it may be easier to show the artistic intent rather than through storyboards and explanations. I researched Disney's multiplane camera and the parallax effect in animation. I began the project in June 2014 and set about concepting the city, running tests and ideas past my tutors and friends to creating prototypes before creating the various painted assets required. It was submitted to the board at the end of August along with my dissertation of practice based research. Programs used were Adobe AfterEffects and Adobe Photoshop.
